Brand Interview
A typeform-style AI interview that asks brand-aware questions one at a time and lands every answer on your Idea Board as a polished idea.
What Brand Interview is for
Brand Interview solves the blank-page problem. Aidelly reads your Brand Profile, generates a track of brand-aware questions tailored to your niche and tone, and asks them one at a time. Every answer you submit becomes a new idea on the Idea Board, with the question saved as the seed topic and your answer as the first entry.
Useful when you sit down to plan a week of content and need raw material that's actually about you, not generic prompts pulled from the web.
Where it lives
Open Brand Interview in the sidebar under Ideas (/brand-interview). Each workspace has its own interview state, so you can run multiple interviews for different brands.
Step 1 — Start the interview
- Open
/brand-interview. - Click Start interview.
- Aidelly generates a track of 8 questions tailored to your Brand Profile. This takes 5–15 seconds.
If you don't have a Brand Profile yet, the questions will be more generic. Recommended: fill out Brand Profile first.
Step 2 — Answer one at a time
The interview opens with the first question full-screen. For each question you can:
- Answer — type your response in the textbox. Submit with
⌘/Ctrl + Enteror the Next button. The answer auto-saves as a new idea on the board, with the question as the seed topic. - Skip — move to the next question without saving. Skipped questions are not retried.
- Retry — re-ask the current question. Aidelly generates an alternate phrasing.
There is no minimum and no penalty for stopping early. Whatever you submitted is already on the board.
Step 3 — Wrap up and review
When you finish (or stop) the interview, the "Done" screen offers two paths:
- Go to Idea Board — opens
/ideasfiltered to "from interview" so you see only this session's output. - Start a new interview — kicks off another 8-question track.
From the Idea Board you can polish any of the new ideas into a draft (see Idea Board → Polish).
How questions are generated
Aidelly looks at:
- Your Brand Profile — niche, audience, tone of voice, brand keywords
- Your brand docs — any uploaded PDFs / text under brand context
- Your recent posts — what you've already shipped, so questions don't repeat themes you've already covered
Better inputs → sharper questions. If the questions feel off, the fix is usually richer brand context, not a different prompt.
Privacy and data
- Answers are stored as ideas on the Idea Board — same RLS-protected
ideastable as every other idea. - The interview's question track is generated server-side using your brand context; the prompt never leaves Aidelly.
- Skipped questions and partial sessions are not stored separately; only submitted answers persist.
Credit cost
| Step | Approx. credits |
|---|---|
| Generate the 8-question track | 10–40 (one call) |
| Submit an answer | 0 (just a DB write) |
| Total for a full session | 10–40 credits |
Bounded total cost per session; well below a typical Repurpose run.
How Brand Interview interacts with other Aidelly features
- Idea Board — every answer lands here as a new idea with
origin = brand_interview. - Brand Profile — drives the question generation. Update it first for sharper output.
- Repurpose — turn a polished interview idea into 3 platform variants in one shot.
- Prompt Library — run a saved prompt against the interview's raw answers.
Troubleshooting
- Questions feel generic — your Brand Profile is thin. Fill out niche, audience, tone, and upload a brand doc; re-run.
- One question is awkward — hit Retry for an alternate phrasing. You can retry as many times as you want; the track length stays at 8.
- Lost my answers — answers auto-save the moment you submit. Open Idea Board and filter by "from interview".
