Content Plugs
Reusable promotional snippets (CTAs, sign-offs, hashtag blocks, disclosures) you insert into any draft with one click.
What plugs are for
You probably have a notes app full of "things I paste into every post" — your sign-off, your standard CTA, a hashtag block, an affiliate disclosure. Plugs replace that workflow. Save the snippet once, insert it anywhere in Aidelly with one click, and use variables that resolve at publish time.
How to access
Plugs are usable in two places:
- Composer — type
/in any text input, or click the Plug icon in the toolbar. - Chat — same
/shortcut works in the chat input.
The library itself lives at Settings → Content plugs.
Step 1 — Create a plug
- Open Settings → Content plugs.
- Click Add plug.
- Fill in:
- Name (internal label, e.g. "Newsletter CTA")
- Slug (the
/-prefix shortcut, e.g.newsletter— typing/newsletterin the composer inserts this plug) - Content (the snippet itself — text, links, hashtags, emoji)
- (Optional) Category (CTA / Sign-off / Disclosure / Hashtag block / Other) for organization
- Click Save.
Step 2 — Use variables
Plug content supports a few built-in tokens that resolve when the post publishes:
| Token | Resolves to |
|---|---|
{{workspace_name}} | The current workspace name |
{{current_month}} | Full month name (e.g. "December") |
{{current_year}} | 4-digit year |
{{first_name}} | The recipient's first name (chat conversations only) |
{{post_url}} | The published post's URL (resolved post-publish) |
Type the token literally in the plug content. Aidelly substitutes at publish time, not insertion time.
Step 3 — Insert from the composer
Two ways:
- Slash command: type
/and a fuzzy menu shows every plug. Type more letters to filter; press Enter to insert. - Toolbar: click the Plug icon → pick from the list.
The snippet is inserted at cursor position. You can edit the inserted text for this post — the plug itself is unchanged.
Step 4 — Organize the library
In Settings → Content plugs:
- Search — filter by name, slug, or content
- Category — collapse / expand by category
- Reorder — drag plugs to change the menu order (most-used at the top is a good default)
- Archive — hide rarely-used plugs without deleting them

Plugs vs Posting Sets
- Plugs are text snippets you insert into post copy.
- Posting Sets are the whole composer state (platforms, timing, hashtags, watermark settings).
A Posting Set can default to inserting specific Plugs — they're complementary, not overlapping.
